Ask A Biologist is an award-winning program that has been in existence since 1997. In 2010 the website collection was officially accessioned by National Science Digital Library. Visitors to the site will find stories about current research, profiles of scientists (including companion audio podcast interviews), an image gallery, mystery images, puzzles, games, coloring pages, and interactive quizzes. In addition, the website features fun flexible data sets that can be used in and out of the classroom by teachers and parents. The data sets, such as the Virtual Pocket Seed Experiment, permit teachers to introduce as much or as little technology and hands-on experimentation as they feel is needed in the classroom.
