Upheaval Dome

Upheaval Dome is circular depression of folded and faulted rocks located in Canyonlands National Park, Utah. It is approx. 5 km in diameter and estimated to be less than 170 million yrs old. There are two theories that explain how it may have formed. Explore the mysteries of Upheaval Dome and make a decision for yourself.

Virtual Field Trips (VFTs) are topic based educationally rich experiences that are captured during real expeditions with scientists doing current research. These VFTs are being used in high school and college classrooms to supplement topics such as early life, microorganisms, biodiversity, and ancient civilizations.
